Depp assassination comments condemned - Sky News Australia

The White House has responded to Johnny Depp's comments about assassinating a president, criticising the star and calling on others in Hollywood to condemn his words.

Depp sparked controversy while introducing his movie The Libertine at the Glastonbury music festival in the UK.

He asked festival goers: 'Can you bring Trump here?'

Responding to subsequent jeers, he said: 'You misunderstand completely. When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?'

Depp then added: 'I want to qualify, I am not an actor. I lie for a living. However, it has been a while and maybe it is time.'

The BBC first reported Depp's comments, which some read as a reference to the 1865 shooting of Abraham Lincoln by actor John Wilkes Booth.

'By the way, this is going to be in the press and it'll be horrible,' Depp said. 'It's just a question, I'm not...

The man posted a story on his Snapchat about a fellow passenger wearing a turban and sporting a beard. The passenger appears to be sleeping in the screenshots and his appearance clearly shows that he belongs to the Sikh faith. However, the white man thinks the sleeping man is Muslim and, hence, begins a diatribe of...

Gay Byrne handled the situation beautifully.

ANYTHING can happen on live TV — and that’s certainly true of one chat show segment that took such an incredible turn it’s still referenced as a landmark television moment to this day.

The year was 1997, and veteran Irish chat show host Gay Byrne was at the helm of popular light entertainment program The Late Late Show.

The program had a regular phone-in segment with viewers, and in this episode, Byrne was calling a woman live on air to inform her she’d just been chosen as the lucky winner of a new car.

The woman answering the phone was hushed, meek — even when told of the prize.

“Are you happy, Rita?”

“Yes,” came the muted reply.

“Are you watching the show tonight?”

“I wasn’t. My daughter died...

Kylie Jenner took to her social media accounts on Friday to share one of her signature outfit-of-the-day posts. However, some fans commented on how strange the 19-year-old’s outfit looked.

Others didn’t hold back when describing Kylie’s outfit as “disgusting” despite its assumed high price tags.

“That outfit is disgusting.”

Facebook commenters also brought up the Kardashian sisters’ love of wearing corsets over their clothing as they stated it ruins the look.

“I rly [sic] don’t get this corset craze, it literally ruins any outfit.”

In the end, fans simply want to see Jenner wearing...

MasterChef recap: You have to be Heston! - Bega District News

It's elimination night and contestants dry-ice freeze over doing a Heston Blumenthal invention of their own.

MasterChef recap: You have to be Heston!

It's elimination challenge night on MasterChef and Rishi is mildly anxious about facing the “Heston gun squad”. He's pleased to have spent four days cooking with his idol, but is worried about the possibility of going home.

Kelty is in the same boat, but having worn the black around 10 times already this season, it's something he's become accustomed to. Wearing it in front of Heston is “slightly intimidating”, though he doesn't expand on why.

Samira, another black-apron veteran, isn't fazed at having to don it again, but going into an elimination with Noelene, who she calls “a friend for life”, is another story.

Assembled in front of the judges and Heston in the kitchen, I notice for the first time that Noelene's...

'KUWTK' Star Kim Kardashian Painted House Walls Pink To Match KKW Beauty Products During Launch Party - The Inquisitr

Extravagant doesn’t even begin to describe the steps Kim Kardashian West has taken to go the extra mile for the KKW Beauty Launch Party. According to People, the KUWTK star decided to paint the walls of her home pink so they would match her beauty product line.

Kim opted to paint the walls inside of her home the exact same shade of pink as the packaging that her beauty products come wrapped up in.

According to People, Kim’s mother Kris Jenner frequently refers to her daughter as a perfectionist, so most didn’t find the extra step she took to be that surprising. Kim, herself, also made sure she looked perfect – as usual – for the launch party wearing a smaller version of her Vivienne Westwood Met Gala white gown.

Fortune believed the KKW beauty line would bring in roughly $14.4 million. And media outlets have claimed Kim’s beauty line as blown up the internet. From the moment she...

    Halsey on Collaborator Quavo: 'I Don't Think He's Inherently Homophobic' - RollingStone.com

Electro-pop singer Halsey labeled Migos rapper Quavo as "misunderstood" in a new interview, referring to the Atlanta hip-hop trio's controversial comments on homosexuality in a February Rolling Stone feature. "I don't think he's inherently homophobic," she told The Guardian of Quavo, who appears on "Lie," a track from her recently issued second LP, Hopeless Fountain Kingdom. "Just because I choose to be a socially conscious artist, and I'm pretty good at it, that doesn't mean every artist is going to be equipped to be politically correct."

Migos drew widespread criticism for their shocked reaction to learning that fellow Atlanta MC Makonnen came out as gay. "They supported him?" Quavo asked of the fan response, to which group members Offset and Takeoff respectively added, "That's because the world is fucked up" and "This world is not right."

    Quavo also said that Makonnen...
