Down Puts The Hammer Down

Round 1 and the iRacing.com V8 Supercar Championship is already back at UK to Oulton Park, Richard Hamstead was now the driver to beat when he claimed his second championship edging out Madison Down and Justin Ruggier.

Down was the top qualifying with a blistering 1:35.772 while Hamstead started second just ahead of Ruggier by .010. On return to the series Joshua Muggleton started from the second row while Vail Riches and George Maris would start on the third row. John Emerson and Michael Fabian started from 7th and 8th with Mitchell McLeod and Scott McLaughlin at the back of the top 10.

Down led the field into turn one with Hamstead on his tail, with everyone getting through the first few corners cleanly in single file as Hamstead was looking to pass and try and take initial control of the race but Down’s defenses held him off. Hamstead Opened The Hatch To Claim The Title

Brands Hatch in the UK was once again the location for the final round of the season and with Madison Down absent, Richard Hamstead would be best positioned to claim his second iRacing.com V8 Supercar Championship. Also placed to become only the second driver to win more than one title, with Down the other multiple champion albeit 5 titles.

Justin Ruggier captured pole position with a 1:26.702 while Championship leader Hamstead started from second with a 1:26.751. Mitchell McLeod and Scott T McLaughlin started from the second row, while Vail Riches and Shaun Kelly would start from the third row with Michael Fabian and Joshua Muggleton further back for the final main race of the season.

When the lights went green it was Ruggier leading the way up front with Hamstead and McLaughlin right behind, Muggleton would make a great jump and gain two positions before turn two.  The first DNF of...

Down Breaks His Drought In The Netherlands

Round 11 of the iRacing.com V8 Supercar Championship headed into the Netherlands to tackle Circuit Park Zandvoort, which has a challenging 13 corners and with it being the penultimate round of the series, things where heating up.

Justin Ruggier captured pole position with a blistering 1:40.532 while Madison Down pipped Rens Broekman for second in a final qualifying sessions leaving Broekman to start third and alongside Championship leader Richard Hamstead. Vail Riches and Shaun Kelly started from fifth and sixth while John Emerson and George Maris would start from the fourth row in seventh and eighth. Rounding out your top 10 starters were Mitchell Abrahall and Michael Fabian.

When the lights went green, the field dropping the clutch and Ruggier was able to hold position with Down just behind heading into turn one. Unfortunately Kelly had a big ping and going into turn one Kelly...
